Lime Kiln Trail — Saturday, Jun. 8, 2013

North Cascades > Mountain Loop Highway
Salmonberries were ripe and plentiful.
Went for an easier hike today along the Lime Kiln Trail. This was a perfect hike for one of those days where both the clouds and sun can't make up their mind. I found this hike to be relatively easy with only a few steep spots. The trail did have alot of nettles taking over but I was wearing a short sleeved tee and capris and didn't suffer any itching. The greenery was so lush and vivid, and there were plenty of salmonberries along the trail. The bleeding hearts were out in abundance as well, which is always beautiful. I arrived around noon to a full parking lot so I had to park along the entry way and didn't have any problems upon my return. The river was cold but felt good to dip your toes into.
Awesome artifacts left behind.
Lush green!
