Olympic Peninsula > Northern Coast
The Lookout

Drove up to the lookout. The shortest route (Hwy 101 -> W Snider Rd -> FR 3041 -> FR 3040 -> FR 065) was in good condition (i.e. drivable with a low-clearance vehicle). There was just one other car parked at the lookout. The lookout was in poor shape, but open, so we walked around the deck and peeked inside. Had lunch at the viewpoint next to the lookout, then walked along the ridge towards Mt Muller. The trail was in good condition. But most of the trail is in dense, second-growth forest, with only occasional views. Turned around at 2mi+, where the trail crossed a large, open meadow with great views (and lots of wildflowers). Encountered just a couple of people on the trail, including two rangers.
