The trail head was easy to find, just past the gate, to the left and into the woods. The trail looked well traveled for getting 14" of snow a couple days ago. After almost 1 mile, the trail just ended. I teamed up with another couple and we were able to blaze a trail toward the creek. We found some cross country skier tracks and followed those up the creek for a ways until his tracks stopped as well. We pressed on for a couple hundred yards, but couldnt go any further. We turned around and headed back down. I learned that about a month ago a huge storm had downed many trees across the trail and getting to the lake was nearly impossible.
I had a great first snowshoe experience in the new powder even though I couldnt get to the lake.
