Trip Report

McClellan Butte — Sunday, Jul. 18, 2010

Snoqualmie Region > Snoqualmie Pass
one of two snowbridges
After some good summer hikes took the boys to tackle McClellan. Trail was in very nice condition and had no issues other than the two snow bridges (Soren slid off one, doh!) which must surely be melted out by now and the bugs (used some bug juice and kept moving). Boys (7, 10, 10) did great and were troopers throughout. At the saddle they all wanted to go for it so I escorted each one up the scramble to make sure they were safe. Summitted with no issues and enjoyed a spectacular clouldess summit view. Way down went quickly as we chased each other with pinecone wars. Made it just in time for shakes at Scott's in North Bend. (quick note on the route, folks should know about "the rectangle" and that when you cross the first road you can go up and then right or right and then up)
