Road is fine. Some potholes.
There is a fairly significant tree blown down early on, and a dicey stream crossing for people like myself who like to wear sneakers. Also, watch out for nettles.
No snow on the way to the Mackinaw shelter. I went up to about 4000 feet elevation on the ridge before I hit my turnaround time/ran out of water. There was still no snow at this point. Looking at the ridge on the other side of the Sauk it appears that snow starts between 4000 and 5000 feet.
