Bridges are NOT in... nps.gov site says the trail is open and new bridges are in so we gave it a try. Sign at the trail head (after 3.7 mile hike from the ranger station) said the trail was closed and bridges were out. The sign was right, of course. First bridge is in place, but we saw no safe way to get beyond the main part of the river, so we ate lunch about halfway across the river bed.
Nice hike out to the trailhead -- no real obstacles. Quite a few other people on the road/trail, but it didn't feel crowded. Got a few bug bites along the way, nothing too bad though.
