This report is for the hike up to the boringly named Peak 5396 above the Mount Forgotten Meadow. The trailhead shares the same parking lot as Mount Dickerman so there is plenty of parking and nice facilities. It's a nice easy walk through beautiful fall foliage to start, then gets rockier and steeper as you ascend the valley up to Perry Falls. It took me approximately 1 hour 20 minutes to get to the falls which made a nice break spot. Beyond that the trail is a pretty consistent steep grade on dirt (roughly 1000 feet per mile steepness), slightly overgrown in spots and a couple downed trees that are easy enough to navigate over. This isn't an easy section so going was slow, it was 1.5 more hours for me to get up to the meadow. From the meadow there is an easy short and steep trail up to a smaller peak named Peak 5396 that offers stunning 360 degree views. You can see so many awesome mountains from there - Baker, Skuksan, Glacier, Sloan, Foggy, even the Olympic mountain range. I did not continue on to Mount Forgotten, it looks like something definitely beyond my comfort range.
Unfortunately my AllTrails app paused itself a couple times so I don't have exact stats, but my best estimate is 10.8 miles with 3500 feet gain. It took me 3 hours up and 2 hours down.
