Monroe Landing Low Tide Trail — Sunday, Oct. 11, 2026

Puget Sound and Islands > Whidbey Island
San De Fuca Pier

After reviewing maps and data I found the trail to be more like 6.4 miles in length. You must not hike this trail High Tide. It must be Low Tide because some areas cannot be crossed at High Tide. It's best to start the hike 1 hour before low tide and this will give you sufficient time to complete without worrying about the tide. At Grasser Lagoon just South of San De Fuca Pier also called Coveland on Google Maps is the beginning of the trail and you must cross through some water to walk out on the peninsula and then head East and gradual verge left heading North for the rest of the hike back to Oak Harbor which is on Whidbey Island in Washington State. This trail can be very rocky in places but there are some sandy areas at Monroe Landing Beach Park so please have hiking boots. There is no fresh water source or bathroom along this trail so be prepared. During this hike I found a shipwrecked sailboat that is in the video. The last time I hiked this trail the boat was not there. Lots of Wild and Marine Life along this trail. You will always see Bald Eagles trying to feed in the Bay Area of Oak Harbor and the beach along the way. All and all A great day for a hike. Checkout the video of this hike by clicking on the link below or checkout over 500 other hikes I have done on my Vimeo Channel by clicking on the link below this one.

As always get out and see this beautiful State and enjoy your hiking!
