We started this hike from the Stevens Pass trailhead on a misty and cloudy day. The weather may have kept some people off the trail today because we only ran into about 10 other people all day. The trail was in great condition. It starts off along the highway, so you have some highway noise initially; but it goes away after a mile or two. Most of this hike is in the trees with openings to views of some fall foliage starting to heat up. We took the second turn-off down to the lake and were greeted by a rocky overlook and a sandy beach--a great place to have lunch. The Fall foliage was beautiful around the lake and reflected in the water--even while it was raining.... Overall, a really nice hike without much elevation gain.
Gaia had it at 11.8 miles and 1614 feet of ascent.
