Yellow Aster Butte — Friday, Jul. 31, 2026

Great overnight trip. Road was bumpy but fun (I drive an old Subaru forester). We arrived at 10:30am on Friday July 31 and the parking lot was already full, we parked on the side of the road a few hundred feet from the trailhead. The trail itself was well-maintained but not that crowded. Bugs were annoying but bug spray kind of helped. Plenty of people camping at the lakes near the top, but we managed to snag a spot with views of both Shuksan and Kulshan. Storm rolled in Saturday morning giving us a dramatic sunrise but a kick in the ass to get outta there. Wonderful trip overall!
