From a colorful beginning at Sunrise Point we headed to the main parking lot and then walked the Silver Forest trail. Wildflowers are blooming and the views from the trail are breathtaking. It's a short out and back and when we returned to the intersection we continued on the trail to Shadow Lake and Sunrise Camp. From there, we hiked up the back way to Frozen Lake. At this intersection we opted to go down into the basin toward Berkeley Park where we ran into a couple day hikers who said there were a band of 30 mountain goats just beyond Skyscraper Pass. Rather than hike down into Berkeley Park we took the trail towards Skyscraper Pass. It's one of those trails where you are keenly aware that "what goes down, must come up". At Skyscraper Pass there was indeed a large band of mountain goats and we were in all of our glory! You can see lots of photos and read about the day's adventure at:

Beautiful day on the Sunrise side of Mount Rainier!
