Heather Park — Wednesday, Jul. 22, 2026

Olympic Peninsula > Northern Coast
Heather Park by AdamGl

I’ll be back to do this one again. The trail to Heather Park is in great condition and is mostly free of rocks and roots, a minor miracle in the PNW. (This is not the case once you crest the saddle.) while there are no especially steep sections, the entire trail climbs steadily and without any notable respite. Pace yourself.

The first 4-ish miles are in woods, and as you start to break free of them wildflowers are blooming all along the trail; lupine, bellflower, vetch, pipsissewa, wooly sunflower, wintergreen and more.

Heather Park itself is pretty and peaceful, and the view from the saddle is incredible. Even with smoke haze, Baker and Glacier Peak were visible.
