The road to Harts Pass opened June 24th (thanks USFS!), opening up access to the high country! The road to the Brown Bear trailhead is also nearly fully open, but some big snow patches remain in the last quarter mile. The trail from Brown Bear to Grasshopper Pass is about 95% snow free, with the biggest patches no more than 100 yards long and easy to cross. Wildflowers are about at their peak, including avalanche lilies, lupine, paintbrush, and many more. A great time to enjoy this beauty!
