Trip Report

Robinson Mountain, Beauty Creek & Robinson Creek - South — Sunday, Jun. 21, 2026

North Cascades > Pasayten

We did Robinson Mountain with an overnight at the tarn on the way out.  A few notes on conditions:

  • The road is still closed from Monument Creek trailhead.  That said, it seems like it could open again at any moment, as the road was freshly-graded and buttery smooth all the way to the Robinson Creek trailhead, with staffers working at the trailhead.
  • Robinson Creek trail is in great shape, with the exception of some brushiness right before the Beauty Creek trail.  The stream at 2 mi from trailhead is flowing.
  • Beauty Creek trail is in ok shape, though there are 5-6 blow downs of sizeable logs in the first quarter that require some committed straddling.
  • Climbers trail from Beaty Creek trail to the tarn is pretty easy to follow, only disappearing in the the last 100 yards.
  • The main tarn campsite is snow free though there is still a fair amount of snow at the tarn.  Plenty of water in the tarn + the outflow.
  • Few mosquitos but many flies at the tarn in the evening.  Fortunately, while they swarmed annoyingly, they did not bite.
