Got up Baldy this afternoon. Only a few cars in the lot, set off around 4:45.
The trail remains in good shape with only a few blowdowns to get over higher up. The steep mile up to Para Point is definitely slow, and mostly steep loose dirt, I think recent moisture made it a little less slippery for me today but was still glad my shoes were grippy coming back down, poles could be helpful.
The ridge over to Baldy is great, 360 views and an abundance of wildflowers remaining up high. Balsamroot is long gone on the lower slopes but still some fading clusters up along the ridgeline along with a variety of others in bloom.
Didn't spend long on the summit despite the views today, the wind was whipping this afternoon with a cloud front directly splitting the ridgeline overhead and it was quite chilly.
Jogged back down to warm up. Back to the car at 7:30 RT: 7.5 miles ~3200 gain.
