Trip Report

Lake Stuart — Tuesday, May. 19, 2026

Central Cascades > Leavenworth Area
Several areas of blowdown make navigation challenging at Stuart Lake.

The trail to Stuart Lake is currently snow free, though snowpack remains up neighboring basins of the lake. Dozens of trees are down between the trailhead and the lake- make sure to have a map downloaded before starting at the trailhead, as navigating around downed logs can be disorienting for some hikers. There are areas of heavy blowdown in the immediate vicinity of Stuart Lake, making access to many of the campsites challenging, particularly on the far end of the lake. Navigating around deadfall can be time consuming, allow plenty of extra time for your journey.
