We went up on a Saturday in mid-afternoon. The parking lot was less than half-full when we arrived. The parking lot is closed at the end of the main section, so if you want to visit Hurricane Hill, you have to walk the road to the trailhead.
The whole Hurricane Ridge area has basically no snow. Just a few tiny patches here and there. Gonna be a dry summer — be careful with fire, folks! We don't need another fire in the Olympics this summer!
We had a beautiful day. The phlox is blooming pink and white and is gorgeous. And glacier lilies are blooming. They're small and a little subtle right now, so watch for them!
We walked the road as far as the trailhead to Hurricane Hill and then came back. (It definitely looks like Hurricane Hill is also 100 percent melted out.) It was a good trip for my friend who is recovering from knee surgery.
We saw a bunch of deer, but no babies yet! But watch for them. I'm sure they're out there.
