It was as they say a "slow news day" down at the point. I went south to Meadowdale Beach mostly walking in the shallow water along the shoreline looking for critters in the water and sand and hunting birds. I did see lots of small hermit crabs skittering around. I also saw a small Dungeness crab digging itself into the moist sand to wait for the tide to come in. As I was coming back north to the point there was one heron that kept moving ahead of me, usually about 70 feet away and then it would take off again.
There are a couple porta-potties at the parking lot. They are open but I didn't check out the their condition.
