This is a hidden gem! A group of us were spending the weekend at an Airbnb nearby and wanted a short rex stretcher hike before grabbing lunch in Roslyn and hitting the road back home, this was perfect! The sign on the road is easy to miss, but the trail is obvious. We parked on the main road as we didn’t want to risk bottoming out, and there are several signs saying cars weren’t allowed past the main road, so we weren’t certain, but we did see a vehicle heading down the rocky descent. The trail is in good shape and the ADA path is clear.
So many wildflowers are in bloom now, with more coming soon. We saw balsamroot in abundance, and spotted lupine, paintbrush, chocolate lily, borage, waterleaf, anemone, and one or two others. We also saw a large looking River Otter, scampering up the trail ahead of us making for the river ahead. The gates across the bridge were closed, so we explored the shoreline a bit before looping back to the car. No other folks on the trail besides our group. Quiet, lovely hidden gem!
