Quick update on the trail to Myrtle Lake since it's been a couple months since the last one.
I can't comment on the road as I hiked in from the Middle Fork TH. Did check the restroom and it was not stocked with TP. Also, I did note only high clearance vehicles at the trailhead.
The most significant blowdowns all occur prior to the junction between Myrtle and Hester Lakes. I found them quite reasonable but probably more of a challenge with an overnight pack. But no show stoppers. Of course, all this depends on perspective as one group that i spoke with found them to be very annoying.
Snow patches begin in earnest a little less than a mile from the lake but they are for the most part, pretty thin and will be melted out by mid May at the latest.
Other than that, some rock hopping across creeks (trekking poles would help), some muddy spots and lots and lots of trillium. Bugs were out but didn't pay me any attention.
