I drove in via FR 2880 from Palo Alto Rd past Dungeness Forks. The road had been graded since I was there last fall, so the deep ruts on the drop down to Dungeness Forks are gone. Also, the rockslide past Dungeness Forks has been cleared.
I parked at the lower trailhead by the river. The weather was perfect. I hiked in a t-shirt most of the day. I hiked the trail to the end, then returned via the upper trail to the Cat Creek Trail. The trail was in generally good shape, with a few muddy spots, and a total of 9 logs on the trail, none of which presented a serious obstacle. There were tons of trillium blooming, along with fairy slippers, stream violet, and western sweet coltsfoot. I encountered a handful of other hikers.
Hiked a total of 10 miles.
