Started at 2pm on a sunny sunday afternoon. Trail is roughly 2-people wide and a gentle ascent until you get about halfway up. A prior trip review described this as talus trail which is rocky, uneven and narrowed significantly from your first mile. Talus continues basically halfway up to the entire rest of the way to the falls. It is exposed to sun in these areas so hats and sunscreen are helpful. Poles are helpful in navigating parts of talus. There are two trees down across the trail to navigate over. No water crossings. Bugs were present and occasionally swarm but no angry stinging ones yet.
You may be tempted to stop at the lower part where you hear and have peek a boo views. However; keep climbing 3-4 more switchbacks and youre face first into cold mountain mist of the Teneriffe Cascading waterfall. Truly a delight. Passed all delightful fellow humans and dogs. Total time was 2h 20 min. Remember your discover pass. Toilets at trailhead were clean and stocked. North Bend Bar and Grill is a solid place to refuel on the way home from North Bend. Also note starting May 24, this will be one of the transit stops on King County's May-Sept Trailhead Direct route. Check trailheaddirect.org Mt. Si for more info.
