A pleasant hike on a beautiful day.
We did about 3.5 miles round trip since conditions made for slower going. The parking lot is clear of snow and the porta-potties are gone.
The trail is still mostly snow covered and conditions are changing daily. It is no longer a quick hike, since the trail is about the width of the forest road and not always hard packed, making it unpredictable where you might sink in.
We used microspikes, but snowshoes could actually be better right now.
For the dog, though, it was still heaven on earth.
