Late start on a beauty of a day. Wanted to check out the trail conditions since it sounds like the scheduled work party got redirected.
First two miles are mostly clear - I took out a smaller tree on the initial climb. The first major downfall had a tree that was too big for my saw, but I was able to take out the chest high tree that was right after it.
And then the fun started! I brushed out and delimbed most of the trail blockers and was able to make it easier to actually get up and down the trail. Removed some of the smaller downfall. There is definitely need for some saws and a trail party to clear the bigger trees, and you’ll still need to duck under some downfall, but at least now nobody has to squeeze between branches.
Made it up to the lake and it’s all snow from the Thompson Lake Junction. Pretty soft and sloppy and prepare to get your feet wet. The lake is still frozen over but absolutely gorgeous.
Was able to run back down most of the way now!

Awesome, thanks for all that work! Delimbing makes a huge difference.
There is a chainsaw crew going up tomorrow to tackle all the logs, so be prepared for some delays if you come through while they are sawing.
