Haven’t been here in a few months but you can tell the trail has changed quite a bit in that time. The trail up until the second creek crossing has lots of blow downs, I mean upwards of 20, though there was a grandpa and his grandkids cutting some of them for a clear path. There is also a mudslide area to navigate that has been there since our flooding months ago. The second and most major creek crossing area where you have to go back and forth across the creek has had a major washout, if you’re not sure where to go I’m sure someone could spend some time trying to figure out where the trail is. Also needs to be noted that the way I crossed in the morning was no longer viable on the way down. After that, there are only a few blow downs until the bridal veil cut off and a few blow downs after that to the lake.
Snow started before the waterfall, but icy sections came and went through throughout. I never put on my spikes, but some people have them on. once you started really climbing, it was more snow. Less ice and traction was easy for the most part. Pretty deep snow up near the lake in the avalanche field, but very easily managed. Lake is completely iced over. Lots of avalanches on index in Philadelphia beautiful day for a hike!

Egads, I've been there a billion times (including three weeks ago) and yet I don't even recognize where that third picture was taken.
