Not much to add to the many reports about this trail. Just grateful that it is so close to town, a good workout surrounded by big trees. This trail is great for beginners who want to try a little elevation gain (without it destroying your will to live) - and the lake is definitely worth the effort.
There are two trees across the trail right now, hopefully they will be cleared soon. One requires a big step over, the other you navigate through the crushed bark. Neither are deal-breakers, unless you have more serious mobility concerns.
Only a few people and a few dogs on the trail, everyone happy to be out on a non-rainy morning.
Total of 4.6 miles, 1100 feet elevation, 1 hour 40 minutes on the trail (I half jogged down from the lake).
I am planning on joining the nationwide march tomorrow, so today's hike was helpful to recenter and remember why nature is worth fighting for.
