Sunday 3/22. Started at 8:45a and parked in front of Cable Line due to the nearly filled stretch of road. Displayed discover pass and headed out.
What a good feeling leg burner. Just under 2h to summit. Half a dozen blowdowns. Not too muddy, much of it seemed dried out. Poles helped make the climb easier. Temps dropped dramatically at the summit, Rainier was clearly visible. At the summit there were maybe half a dozen people, I honestly thought it'd be overwhelmed with people like nearby hikes but it was refreshing. Given all the vehicles parked it was nice to have 30 minute chunks of no people.
Took Cable Line down just for a less traffic experience which is a straight up knee assault, and is snot slick suction-the-shoe-right-off-you mud .50 to .10 from trailhead.
