Central Cascades > Stevens Pass - West
New Clouds Forming Drifting Up

A good go-to lowland hike. There were four vehicles in the parking lot but I didn't see anyone on the trails. It looked like after the first road crossing everyone else went to the left up to the vista. I went right where there were no footprints in the snow except for some small animals, rabbit and maybe a weasel. The trails are mostly snow covered, about 1-2 inches at the trailhead and 4-5 inches up on the ridge. The snow was wet and slushy and much of the route had water flowing or standing on it. There were a few very small trees across the trail and one rather annoying one that had fallen length-wise just before the west side of the footbridge. Since it was fairly small you just had to work your way through the branches.

Up at the Sky Valley Vista Point you could see along the valley in both directions but only the lower part of the foothills were in view. The usual views to the south, Baring, Index and Persis were clouded over.
