Purchased Sno-Park permit at Hyak Sno-Park and arrived at the NF-4832 roadside parking around 2:30pm near the entrance.
Lake Mardee Road was congested as weather was mostly clear and I-90 was clear of snow (Thanks WSDOT). Not seeing vehicles display permits at all unfortunately.
Most should be able to walk from entrance to trailhead parking lot without gears, but it does require showshoes once you pass the restroom at the trailhead.
Most visitors were enjoying the scenery at the lake. Lake was not frozen. I only encountered one group of 4 snowshoeing during my trip. Snow depth was decent after the 4+' of snow in the past week, a tree snapped and some limps around the trial but was able to walk around them.
We arrived at the car at 6pm.
