Our group of Mountaineers braved the icy roads this morning to hike Sequalitchew Creek. We arrived around 8:45 to just a couple other cars in the lot. It was a nice surprise to see the new eco-friendly toilet at the trailhead! The trail is very straightforward and we took a leisurely pace down to the water. There was some ponding on the trail but it was easy to avoid. An AllTrails a user had noted a tree across the trail on Thursday, but it was already gone today. There was a bunch of water at the end of the left train tunnel, so we took the right to the beach. What a beautiful morning! We were able to see various waterfowl, as well as seals swimming in Puget Sound. The hike back up was uneventful and we passed about 6 groups heading down (we saw none on the way down). A great day for a hike!
