Twin Falls — Tuesday, Mar. 10, 2026

Snoqualmie Region > North Bend Area
Lower Falls from the Lower Viewing platform

We reached the parking lot at 8:30am. You need a Discover Pass to park there. There was just one another car when we arrived. Perks of hiking on weekdays = ample parking! There is a restroom at the trailhead.

After a long day of hiking yesterday, we wanted to stay local. This is a relatively easy and family friendly hike, esp for the young kids. This is the right time to see the waterfalls, so we chose to hike this one today!

The trail is well marked and maintained. It was a little muddy here and there along the trail but walkable. It's amazing to see the river raging through the canyon. You will love all the different views of the river, big mossy trees, and the different viewpoints of the falls. Most of the viewpoints have benches where you can take a short snack break.

There was one downed tree that we could easily step over and another one very close to it that we could duck-under.

We walked upto the Palouse to Cascades trail where the trail is closed because of the landslide area. See picture.

My Garmin recorded 3.02 miles. It's a short hike but a good workout when you're short on time!
Trail closure due to landslide
Downed tree on the trail, easy to step over
