We parked at the Beard's Hollow trailhead and walked on the wide, level, paved trail out to the first of the beach access paths.
Skunk cabbage is beginning to bloom in the swamp area, lots of newts were crossing the trail, and the frogs were singing - must be springtime!
The beach here is just north of North Head and is beautiful with the rocks and dripping moss. We were treated to a soap opera of bald eagles, ospreys, and crows fighting over territory or nest guarding the whole time we were there.
The parking lot has one vault toilet which, while well stocked, is in need of cleaning.
