Trip Report

Section Line Trail, West Tiger Railroad Grade & Poo Poo Point — Saturday, Mar. 7, 2026

Issaquah Alps > Tiger Mountain
Many creeks

We parked at the Senator Bill Ramos Memorial Trailhead and found the last spot. The overflow was half-full as well. We started off in clouds, but there was a low chance of rain. I stowed a windbreaker anyway. The goal was a loop on West Tiger RR Grade or up to TMT and back on Poo Poo, depending on how wet it was. We headed up to Tradition Plateau and Adventure Trail to Section Line. I could feel the light accumulation of dampness on my arms and clothes. The climb got us warmer, and damper, but heading down West Tiger RR Grade over to Seattle View, I had to don my windbreaker. Thank goodness for over-preparedness. And, my shorts were half-soaked from all the fern. We decided to stay on WTRR for the smaller loop.

There's a section about 0.3 miles past Seattle View junction that's the muddiest mile of trail I've been on in Tiger - up to several inches in some areas. There are numerous bridges and water crossings in this section. This area is called the Many Creeks Valley and is flanked and crossed by WTRR above and Poo Poo below. The junction of the two aforementioned and One View used to have a v-gate, but has been reconfigured. It's been awhile, so I'm not sure how long ago.

The trip back Poo Poo was less muddy and we saw many more people. 7.9 - 8.2 miles, depending on whose app we used.

Something intriguing about the textures here
Several of these guys to cross
