We hiked about 3.8 miles in, to the 4th footlog. The log was a bit icy, so it seemed like a good turnaround point. The trail was in great shape, thanks to a recent log-out by Gray Wolf Trail Crew, who cleared it to the 5th footlog. There were no obstructions, and only a bit of mud in places. We encountered zero other hikers on a Tuesday.
There were a few patches of snow near our end point, at an elevation of about 1600 ft.
