Toilets: None at Getchell, 1 ADA portapotty (with an extremely steep approach from the trail!) at Lake Cassidy, about 1.5 miles south of Getchell.
On this WTA trail workparty, we continued the effort to build a short ADA-accessible lollypop loop off the Centennial Trail, about 3/4 mile south of the Getchell Trailhead. The Centennial Trail was in great shape and the privy at Lake Cassidy was clean and stocked with TP (no sanitizer).
Because this is the early days of this project, our objective was to continue to break trail, which involved digging down to the mineral soil and hauling bucket after bucket of soil, root, crumbling bark, etc. into the brush.
Animal sightings: Pacific wren, red-tailed hawk, garter snake.
Other cool nature sightings: hair ice along the Centennial Trail!
Parking at Getchell was competitive even at 8:30am, and by the time we wrapped around 3pm there were cars parked in the aisles waiting for a spot to open up.
