Excelsior Pass via Nooksack River — Sunday, Feb. 15, 2026

Beautiful day.  Went up from nooksack and winter route to peak.  Gaia showed 9.2 miles and all trails 10.2.  We did explore a bit before heading up peak.  Trail snow covered about 1 mile in with patches before that.  Put snowshoes on about 2 miles in.  Deep once out of forest.  A lot of snowmobiles out today. Met a nice couple who had snow camped.  Evaluated snow for peak as level 3 but winter route and went up through trees and kept to side.
