Cama Beach Historical State Park — Friday, Feb. 13, 2026

Puget Sound and Islands > Bellingham Area
Rhododendrons in bloom

First time we’ve ever hiked here. Normally we go to Camano island state park but today, we decided to see if we could find a clue ball for the Great Northwest Quest but had no luck. Instead, we started our annual wildflower treasure hunt early seeing daisies, herb Robert’s, Salmonberry, Indian plum and rhododendron all in bloom. We had a great hike even with the last hour being a total downpour. The trail towards Ivy Lane was very wet with large puddles and running water in the downpour. All trees were cleared but one that was easy to step over. Lots of fun mushrooms to spot, too! No views from the viewing platforms but it was to be expected with the rain. Lots of birds singing and we saw 2 deer.

In total 4.25 miles with the different loops we took.
