Trip Report

Little Mountain Park - Up Quick, Little Mountain Park - Bonnie and Clyde Loop — Monday, Feb. 9, 2026

Puget Sound and Islands > Bellingham Area
The Cairn Trail.

I arrived at the parking area off of Little Mountain Road around 9:30 on a cloudy and chilly Monday and it was about half full. The privies are clean and stocked at this time and a parking pass is not needed here.

I hiked a loop today with the following outbound route: Hop Connector-->La-Z-Boy-->out and back using the Cairn, Nature, and Sidekick Trails-->La-Z-Boy-->Lower Surfer's Way-->Upper Surfer's Way-->Mossy Rock-->Up Quick-->West Loop-->Bonnie & Clyde's-->Ginny's Trail to the viewpoint. After a quick lunch at the viewpoint, my inbound route was as follows: Ridge Trail-->Mossy Rock-->Upper Surfer's Way-->Over The Top-->Rooty Trail-->Hop Connector to the parking area. Strava measured the route to be about 7.6 miles and I was back to my car around 1:30 or so.

The trails I hiked were mostly dry and in good shape with few obstacles to report. There was a little mud here and there, mostly on Lower Surfer's Way. Also, the West Loop has a tree down over the trail and I managed to get over it by stepping on some nearby branches and straddling over. There was evidence of recent trail clearing and maintenance so thank you to the crews that have been out doing that.

It was a quiet day at Little Mountain and I only saw four other people total during my hike.
