Incredible repair work on display on this trail! Some huge old growth trees have come down on this and all the damage is repaired. Even saw that they are splitting planks out of one of the downed cedars to use for trail construction. High quality wood that should last a long time!
Snow on the trail started about a quarter mile from the lake. I never needed to put on spikes going in either direction. Lots of people on the trail but plenty of space to spread out and find a nice spot by the lake to sit.
Rain started in earnest as we reached the lake, turning the return trip into a much wetter experience.
