Just a quick trip out to Sare’s Head this afternoon. Red-winged blackbirds were noisy in the marsh. A pileated woodpecker worked the decaying trees. There was a single red-flowering currant blooming - the first I’ve seen this season. One fun surprise was seeing a bunch of different slime molds! So cool! And the view from the bench is spectacular.
I ended my outing by visiting West Beach at Deception Pass, eating my dinner and watching the most incredible sunset.
