A sunny day in the Gorge so we took the kids up Beacon Rock, the trailhead parking was busy and hard to find a spot as you’d expect on a sunny Saturday in winter.
It was lovely to have the wind from the east blocked by the massive rock while we ascended in the bright sunshine; though the top was windy and cold.
Despite being a busy day on the trail everyone was friendly and all the dog owners we encountered were polite and had their dogs on leash too.
The best public bathroom I’ve ever been to is at the boat launch at Beacon Rock, very clean and a bright light plus instant hot water, and a stroll down along the dock afterwards is one of my favorite views in the entire Gorge.
