I had never done this trail and we decided to give this a try today before the rain comes back tomorrow.
It is a beautiful forested lollipop loop. Great views. Chilly wind in the beginning. Calm on the way back.
We went clockwise and did the steep/short way up. Trail is in good condition. No snow at all and pretty dry. We had a quick lunch break at the summit and then headed down via the Boxley Blowout, a 1918 power dam failure that destroyed the logging community of Edgewick, with no fatalities. For more information, see the History Link - https://www.historylink.org/File/2426
There is one minor blowdown that was easy to step over.
We only met one couple at the summit and no one else throughout the hike. My friends said they seldom find this trail to be crowded. It's surprising, given its proximity to Rattlesnake Lake.
Parking lot had ample parking when we arrived at 10am. Vault toilets were clean.
If you want less crowds with a nice view, look no further! Perfect hike. Do it!! Not boring at all.

Thank you for this report! After being disappointed by a hike up to Stan's Lookout last week and not having a promised view, this was the perfect remedy.
