Be super careful when you’re turning onto the Pilchuck access road coming from Verlot when it’s icy! I was driving really slow over the bridge noticing there was ice and when I came to the turn, I still slid (luckily into the turn to the access road). However, there was a car in the ditch that I’m assuming wasn’t able to slow down in time.
The rest of the road to the trail was fine. And the trail was in great shape, just incredibly busy. I don’t think there was a moment we didn’t have a view of people in front of us. It was to be expected on the first sunny weekend in a long time! There is snow at the lake, but I put spikes on so I had no problem. Would recommend, but not absolutely necessary.
