Great afternoon hike at the preserve on a sunny winter day!
We parked at the main entrance on the south side (plenty of spaces) and took the Trillium Trail up all the way to the north end of the preserve. Here it connects with the Pipeline Trail, and we made a loop taking Collins Creek Trail and Siler's Mill Trail back down. Most of the trails are mixed use, so watch for bikes and horses (and manure). We included Siler's Mill in our loop because it's hikers only and a bit less busy.
Our group clocked 4.7 miles in just under two hours. All the trails were in good condition. Sun shining through the trees in an old growth forest is hard to beat, and the resident birds agree - we enjoyed identifying the songs of the Pacific Wren and Golden-crowned Kinglet (with the Merlin app).
