Silver Lake Park - Canopy Loop — Monday, Jan. 19, 2026

I hope everyone got their flu shots! Our family spent two miserable weeks before we turned a corner so beware. My daughter and I had cabin fever so despite lingering coughs we decided to take this easy little hike and check out the campground for a future overnighter. This is at Silver Lake Park just north of Maple Falls.

The trail is a 1.2 mile loop that circles half way around the hill, and climbs up and over providing a little workout as well  We took the trail clockwise from Cedar Campground, climbing steeply to the top of the hill , then slowly descended as we looped back around. Lots of moss,  fungus, and Hoarfrost. Afterwards, we went to the day use area and walked along the lake. Beautiful day with lots of others out enjoying it as well.
