The hwy was clear of snow and ice. Two spots on the road where it goes down to one lane which is managed with a stop light and does add a little time to the drive but not much.
We arrived to the Heather Meadows lot around 7:30am and got parking in the second row.
Bathrooms were stocked and not terrible.
Trail was compact and you could use boots, spikes, or snowshoes. We used snowshoes for more traction.
It felt like a spring day and you could tell there had been a lot of snow melt in the last few days. Snow was getting soft on highly traveled areas and crunchy in none traveled areas.
We passed a few people on our way up, sat by ourselves at the top and started watching the heard of people come up. On our way down we passed over 200 people. There was also lots of dogs and counted 10 poops in the snow.
Go early if you can.
