Franklin Falls - Winter, Franklin Falls — Friday, Jan. 9, 2026

Snoqualmie Region > Snoqualmie Pass
P.S:  Franklin Falls has avalanche danger in the winter. Please check the avalanche forecast before you go. You will need a Sno-Parks Permit during winter.

The road leading to the Franklin Falls trailhead is not open. So, this easily adds another 5 miles making the roundtrip 7.7 miles. Thats what my Garmin recorded today.
My friends and I started our hike at 10am. The sun was slowly starting to come out. Beautiful day to be experiencing an easy winter wonderland hike.

We put on our micro-spikes as soon as we started our hike and kept them on throughout. The entire stretch till the trailhead and waterfall is covered with ice/packed snow. We saw people in tennis shoes. I wouldn't recommend it. I highly recommend gaiters too. The falls is not frozen.
Beautiful winter hike!
