Thought I’d give an update since there’s been some snow the last few days. I would definitely recommend waterproof boots, I wore gaiters and was greatful for them, brought my spikes but didn’t even think of putting them on. parking lot was good. Lower part of the trail to the bridge over 22 creek was wet wet wet with some patches of snow on the sides. After the bridge until the open climb area was super snotty slushy snow and water on the trail. The open area had a good amount of snow but has been compacted down in the trail area. Up in the basin near the lake there are thigh high areas, lots of snow around the lake and lots of avalanches happening so I only went partway around today. Saw some people in tennis shoes, and they definitely had very wet cold feet I’m sure.

Thanks for the conditions report. Do you think snowshoes would be useful up by the lake or unnecessary?
