Trip Report

Lake Serene — Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026

Central Cascades > Stevens Pass - West

Found a white earbud by the lake. Please contact me if it is yours. Trail has some recent damage, including two sections if stairs that were taken out by a single tree and a big tree that takes some effort to climb over just a little before the lake. Lots of ice on the trail, microspikes and poles highly recommended. The lake wasn't frozen and we saw lots of little avalanches around the lake. Snow is 1-2 ft deep at the lake but the trail is very compacted. There is one large rut right at the beginning of the parking lot that may give some vehicles trouble but everything else is good or avoidable.

Approx 47.79040, -121.55966, not bad to navigate through both sections and pretty crazy to see
Approx 47.78623, -121.56607, a bit difficult to climb over, some people went under but that is tight too
