Heybrook Lookout — Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2025

It was a beautiful day on US 2! I just wanted to mention since I didn’t see it in the trip report from the 28th, the approach to the lookout and a fair amount of the steps/landings are compact snow and ice. I would not have ventured up if I didn’t have my spikes and could see where paths in the snow approaching were avoiding the slick trail itself. The sun may alleviate some of this today but could still be an obstacle for a few days (or more).
